Why Cartagena

A different rhythm
the same standard

Cartagena rewards a slower day. Mornings inside the walls, lunch on a quiet terrace, an afternoon on the water and an evening that does not need to be planned to the minute

We hold the logistics so the trip can feel that way. Villas inside Centro and Getsemaní, yachts to the Rosarios, beach clubs with the right table already saved, and dining that does not appear in any search

We work with the clubs that actually deliver. Held cabanas, quiet check-ins, a driver waiting at the gate, and a return into the city that does not derail the rest of the night.

What guests ask before they book

Honest answers to the questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, ask us directly and we'll come back the same day.

Where should I stay in Cartagena?

Centro Histórico inside the walled city is the classic stay — colonial mansions converted into private villas and boutique hotels, with everything walkable. Getsemaní, just outside the walls, is more boutique and livelier at night. For privacy, water and a fully staffed estate, a private island residence on Barú or the Rosarios is the move — 30 to 60 minutes by boat from the city.

How do I get to the Rosario Islands from Cartagena?

We arrange private yacht and speedboat charters from the city marina. Crossings to the Rosarios run 45 to 60 minutes; Barú is closer, around 30 minutes by boat or 90 minutes by road. The boat is yours for the day — captain, crew, water toys, lunch held at a private beach club, and a return into the city in time for dinner.

What is the best time of year to visit Cartagena?

December through April is dry season and the most reliable weather, with calm seas for island days. Late December and Easter are peak — villas and yachts book out months ahead. September and October are wetter and quieter, with strong shoulder-season availability and softer pricing on top villas. Rain typically passes in afternoon bursts and rarely cancels a day on the water.

Can you arrange a private yacht charter in Cartagena?

Yes — half-day, full-day and overnight charters with captain, crew, chef on board, jet skis, paddleboards, snorkel gear and held beach-club access on Barú or the Rosarios. We match the boat to your group size (60–120 ft sailing and motor yachts), plan the route, and confirm everything before you board. You decide the day, we run the logistics.

Is Cartagena a good destination for a bachelor party?

It's one of the best in the Caribbean for it. Walled-city villas with private chefs and pools, full-day yacht charters to the Rosarios, beach clubs with held cabanas, and a nightlife scene that runs late inside Getsemaní and Centro. We handle the entire weekend quietly — drivers, security, held tables, hosting — so the group shows up and the rest is taken care of.

How far is the airport from the walled city?

Rafael Núñez International (CTG) is a 10 to 15 minute private transfer to Centro Histórico in normal traffic — one of the shortest airport runs of any major Caribbean city. We meet you planeside or at arrivals with a fast-tracked pickup and have you inside the walls before most guests have cleared customs.

Do you arrange private chefs and at-home dining in Cartagena villas?

Yes. We work with chefs who cook Caribbean, contemporary Colombian and international menus inside the villa or on the deck of your yacht. Tasting menus, asados, breakfasts on the terrace, late dinners after a night out — staffed, plated and cleaned up, with the menu designed around your group's preferences in advance.
