Boat options on the reservoir

Boats range from a simple covered launch to a party boat with a sound system. For most travelers the middle option is right: a small private launch with a captain, an hour or two on the water, and the freedom to stop wherever the light is good.

Larger groups celebrating something often take a bigger vessel for half a day with music and drinks. If that is the plan, say so when booking so the boat and the lunch reservation match the group.

Booking notes

Book two or three days ahead in high season, longer for weekends and Colombian holidays. Confirm the pickup address, the number of passengers and whether anyone is skipping the climb, since that changes how long the group spends at the rock.
