Medellín Street Food and Market Tour

Eight or nine stops of things you would never order alone, with someone who knows which stall is the good one.

Overview

Every block in Medellín sells food and most of it is average. This tour is a shortcut to the ten percent that is genuinely excellent: the empanada stand with a queue at 11am, the market fruit vendor who will make you taste nine things you cannot name, the arepa de choclo done properly.

It runs through a working market and two or three neighborhoods, ends full, and completely changes how you order for the rest of the trip.

Frequently asked

Questions about this experience

Honest answers to the questions we hear most. If yours isn't here, ask us directly and we'll come back the same day.

Will I get sick?

We use vendors we eat at ourselves. In years of running this, it has not been a problem.

Vegetarian options?

Plenty, with notice. Colombian food is meat-forward but the fruit and corn side of it is enormous.

Is it lunch?

It replaces lunch comfortably. Do not book a big meal after.
